Dear WGC Members,

September is just around the corner and that means WGC will be gearing up for another great

year!

Last year, we had wonderful speakers, made and hung bows on mailboxes, enjoyed a

progressive dinner, and played bingo at our summer backyard cookout! Thanks again to all the

amazing ladies in our group that made all this happen!

If you have not attended our monthly meetings where we have guest speakers, I encourage

you to do so. In addition to our meetings, we have Bunco groups (we always need extra

players), some of us like to play Mahjong and of course there are ladies that like a game of

pickle ball!

Starting this year, Kerry would like to share a little bio of different WGC members. So, I guess I

am first!

My husband (Jim) and I moved to Wimbledon in 2007 and I joined WGC in 2016. In the past

8 years, I have served as 1st VP-Programs for 2 years, as Treasurer for 2 years and am

starting my 2nd year as President. I have found that WGC is a great way to meet my

neighbors and make new friends.

Being a Nana, I do have to share that our family is so excited that my oldest granddaughter,

Kennedy will be going into 1st grade at Butler Elementary this fall. This is exciting for us

because I am a retired art teacher from Butler and both of our daughters, Amanda and

Sammy Jo, attended Butler as well. So I guess you can say Kennedy is a legacy!

I can’t leave out my youngest granddaughter, Meadow. She will be in PreK at Children’s

University and we are hoping she will be a Bronco next year!

There is also another member of our family I haven’t mentioned and that’s Butters the Pug.

You may have seen him riding in a stroller around the neighborhood!

I am looking forward to seeing everyone at our first meeting on September 10th!

Lana Ogden

WGC President
